B DAY: Tu, Th
US History
Algebra II

(Choir)
What Happened Thursday:
US History - Shea said Mr. M was out today. I'm not exactly sure what the class worked on, I think they did more work on their essay topics (Shea's is Journalism in Vietnam).
Algebra II - Ms. B was back today. The class when over the Rule of 4 worksheet. Shea got a new worksheet and needs to go over worksheet 2.10 this weekend. Ms Ryan will be coming over on Wed 5/30.
English - continued work on podcast.
Work Completed Thursday Night:
There was an assembly on Friday and therefore Shea's only class on Friday was French. Shea planned to finish working on her Renoir presentation Thursday night but by 10:30pm had not done much. She did practice the French portion of her presentation a few times to me and Ellie, but failed to work on the presentation from 8-10pm as she said she would. She felt bad and said she'd start then (now around 10:30pm) but I went to bed--Fri morning Shea said she did a little more work.
What Happened Friday:
French - Shea got a 96/100 on her presentation! She told me Fri night that she forgot her note cards but went forward with the presentation anyway. She said Ms. B praised her for being brave and apparently Shea did very well. GOOD JOB SHEA!
Ms. B's email says it all:

Ms. B's email says it all:
Good morning,
Just want to say what an OUTSTANDING job Shea did today in her presentation on Renoir! Wow!! She came in and said she forgot her note cards, but would try to do it without them. I said that that is very teacher's dream...that students know their information so well that they don't need note cards! She spoke for about 40 minutes and OWNED her topic! She was insightful as well as factual. She knew her stuff and engaged the class because of that! I am so very proud of her. I gave her her grade before she left (96) so that she could feel the importance of a job well done and be able to share it with you. She lost a few points because of French grammar and pronunciation, but in the big picture that was nothing!! Congrats on a job well done! EVERYONE in the class was extremely impressed.
HW for this weekend (Due June 1) is research on Toulouse-Lautrec. I will also be handing out info on the final exam which is a project that will include presentational and interpersonal writing as well as presentational/interpersonal speaking.
Hope you have a fantastic Memorial Day week-end!!
