SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 5/29-6/1 B DAY:  Tu, Th US History Algebra II English (Choir) A DAY:  W, F French Chemistry (Adv Weight Lifting) (Per the Digital Backpack Tue is a B Day) What Happened Thursday: US History -  Algebra - English - I didn't get a chance to speak with Shea about her classes today--I got home around 7:45 and from 8:30 on Shea was studying for her Chem Solubility quiz.  I worked with her for about two hours and didn't want to break her focus from studying. I think the US History class is continuing its work on their topics (Shea's is Journalism in Vietnam).  Ms. Ryan is coming tomorrow at 4pm so Shea should be up to date in Alg - Shea said she has a new worksheet to complete.  She also said she went up to the board 3 times today!  English class seems to keep moving along on their podcasts. Chemistry - Mr J sent the following email about class on Wed: J ust a heads up in case Shea has not shared this week's syllabus with you.  She has a quiz  on Friday on solubility curves.  The class did an experiment on this concept last week and started working on problems/calculations related to that concept yesterday. The remainder was to be finished for homework that's due at the start of class on Friday .  There will be a final Q & A on the topic before the presentation of the assessment, so Shea should make sure she does the work today/tonight . SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 5/29-6/1 B DAY:  Tu, Th US History Algebra II English (Choir) A DAY:  W, F French Chemistry (Adv Weight Lifting) (Per the Digital Backpack Tue is a B Day) What Happened Tuesday: US History - Shea said the class continued work on their projects (Shea's is Journalism in Vietnam).  She said she used another source (online) and printed out the supporting materials.  I noticed that she got a 0 on the Reflections #1 assignment on PowerSchool - I emailed Mr. Mal who said that the class was given the assignment in Th's class to simply write down where they were on the project.  I asked Shea about it and she said that Mr. Mal was out and a student told the class about the assignment (?) and Shea wasn't sure if it was actually due.  Fortunately Mr. Mal said Shea can hand in the assignment for credit by next class.  Time permitting Shea will do this tonight and email it to Mr. Mal. SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 5/29-6/1 B DAY:  Tu, Th US History Algebra II English (Choir) A DAY:  W, F French Chemistry (Adv Weight Lifting) (Per the Digital Backpack Tue is a B Day) Work Completed This Weekend: US History - needs to do research on Journalism in Vietnam essay w/8 sources (this portion of essay assignment due Tu 5/29) Algebra II - Rule of 4 worksheet (due Tu 5/29) - this is a redo of a previous assignment that was handed in to the sub on Tue 5/22 Redid worksheet 2.10 (simplifying radicals) - practice for future quiz.  Note: the quadratic formula used for problems (1-8) was not correct - should be 4ac but 1ac was used.  Otherwise the math was correct. SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 5/21-25 A DAY:  M, W, F French Chemistry (Adv Weight Lifting) B DAY:  Tu, Th US History Algebra II English (Choir) What Happened Thursday: US History - Shea said Mr. M was out today.  I'm not exactly sure what the class worked on, I think they did more work on their essay topics (Shea's is Journalism in Vietnam). Algebra II - Ms. B was back today.  The class when over the Rule of 4 worksheet.  Shea got a new worksheet and needs to go over worksheet 2.10 this weekend.  Ms Ryan will be coming over on Wed 5/30. English - continued work on podcast. SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 5/21-25 A DAY:  M, W, F French Chemistry B DAY:  Tu, Th US History Algebra II English What Happened Wednesday: French - Had substitute teacher, got instructions on new assignment (another presentation on a French artist).  No HW for Fri but Shea has to do her presentation on Fri, still needs to finish her French segment and then do a dry run tomorrow night. Chemistry - Solubility Lab worksheet due next Wed (no Chem on Fri due to Assembly, and it appears that A Classes will be Wed and Fri after holiday).  Also need to go over TQ and QQ this weekend. SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE  5/21-25 A DAY:  M, W, F French Chemistry B DAY:  Tu, Th US History Algebra II English What Happened Tuesday: US History - Shea electronically submitted her topic (Journalism in Vietnam) and thesis questions.  Per the syllabus the next step in the project is:    5/25, 5/29 - All students must submit written evidence of research of four sources [annotations] with proper MLA citations (Shea's next US History class after tomorrow is Tu 5/29) Also, Mr. M replied to an email I sent recently saying the following regarding Shea's Cold War essay: I have not graded her essay yet, but I have read it. It looks much better than her last essay, and I can tell she spent much more time planning and writing it. Excellent progress!  Alg II - Ms B was out.  Shea said the sub went over the HW due (worksheet 2.10).  She needs to brush up on simplifying radical equations, but she did show an understanding of the pr...

SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE  5/21-25 A DAY:  M, W, F French Chemistry B DAY:  Tu, Th US History Algebra II English What Happened Friday: US History - New research project assigned - must select topic and submit thesis statement by Tu 5/22: Algebra - Took 2.6/2.7 Quiz, new Worksheet due 5/22: English - Need to submit draft script for podcast on Tu 5/22 What Happened Monday: French - Shea did not finish her Renoir presentation.  Five of her classmates did their presentations-Shea will do hers on Wed time permitting.  In my opinion she needs to put a lot more time in on this project before Wed.  Ms. B has not yet graded her quiz from last week. SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 5/14-18 B DAY:  M, W, F US History Algebra II English A DAY: Tu, Th French Chemistry (Note: I am traveling on business so am not able to include photos of all of Shea's work, at least until I return on Fri). What Happened Thursday: French - Shea had a quiz that she thought went well.  When I get home I'll see if she was given any HW for Mon. Chemistry - Shea took the Combined Gas Law quiz in class and then the Triple Quiz (Boyle's, Charles' and Gay-Lussac's) in LS.  Shea said the Triple Quiz went okay but she sounded a bit nervous about the Combined Quiz.  She said she that the formulas were provided and that neither quiz required temp conversions (which is curious since the syllabus instructed the students to study the conversions--we'll see) With this Shea is all caught up with her work! SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 5/14-18 B DAY:  M, W, F US History Algebra II English A DAY: Tu, Th French Chemistry (Note: I am traveling on business so am not able to include photos of all of Shea's work, at least until I return on Fri). What Happened Wednesday: US History - Shea turned in her DBQ Essay just under wire late Tu night.  She worked hard on the assignment but should have started her final editing earlier on Tu rather than rushing late Tu night.  Not sure whether she got a new assignment for Fri, will check with her. Algebra II - Shea said Ms. B checked her 2.6 - 2.7 Quiz Review Worksheet.  Ms. B also posted scores for 3 of Shea's make up assignments (Rule of 4, Worksheet 2.4 and Skills Check - full credit on all 3--grades for the Quiz #1 and QUEST retakes are not yet posted).  Shea has a quiz based upon the 2.6 - 2.7 review sheet on Fri. SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 5/14-18 B DAY:  M, W, F US History Algebra II English A DAY: Tu, Th French Chemistry What Happened Tu: French - Shea took the verb quiz and thought she did well.  She has to start her new journal entry and start working on her Renoir presentation (due Mon 5/21). Chemistry - Shea said that Mr J basically went over Dalton's Gas Law.  Shea is retaking the Quad Quiz in LS on Th.  She said Mr J was not to happy with the quiz being retaken this long out from the original quiz day (5/11) The Alg II QUEST test is DONE!  Shea finished in LS and thought it went well. Tuesday Night's Work: Shea got off to a very slow start on her HW today.  She did a little of her Alg II assignment before dinner but only finished it around 9pm.   Shea still needs to change ##7 & 8 - used grouping for a coefficient 1 quadratic.  Should just determine the factors of C and show the brackets. SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 5/14-18 B DAY:  M, W, F US History Algebra II English A DAY: Tu, Th French Chemistry What Happened Today: SHEA'S 17th BIRTHDAY! US History - Shea was happy to learn that her essay was due at 11:59pm on Tue, not Mon.  This was welcome news given that she had to study for her QUEST test w/ Ms R and for her French quiz.  No additional HW for Wed. Algebra - Shea showed 2.8 Item#4 and the Rule of 4 assignments to Ms. B.  Shea said Ms. B told her her work was disorganized.  The passage below from an email I sent Ms B explains why Shea shows so much of her work.  Also, while the work was a bit volumonous, it was fairly well organized (esp 2.8).: ...When she is motivated and engaged, as she has been since the start of the 4th quarter, she tends to do more than is required to make sure she does not miss any steps.  That was the case for problems 13-20 on 2.8 Item#4, where she showed all her factoring work and th...
