SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 5/7-11

A DAY: M, W, F
French
Chemistry

B DAY: Tu, Th
US History
Algebra II
English

What Happened Monday:
French - Shea handed in her Journal assignment but could not find her worksheet assignment, though she later found it at home in her homework folder.  I picked her up early from school (sick - 101 fever) and drove back to school to hand the assignment to Mellisa Macaluso in the school office--Melissa put the assignment in Ms. Bender's mailbox.  I also emailed Ms. Bender to let her know what happened and that the completed worksheet could also be seen on this blog.

Chemistry - Shea had NGSS standard testing so she did not have the normal Chem class.  She also said that she was not able to see Mr. Juhl at the end of class (Shea needed extra time and Mr. Juhl had already left the classroom when Shea finished) so she did not speak with him about getting the lab data for the lab analysis due Wed.  I went back to the school office at 2:20 in hopes of meeting with Mr. Juhl but he had an after school session with AP students and was not available.  Melissa M. said that he planned to call when I was in the office to see what Shea needed but he apparently was not able to call.  I sent an email to Mr. Juhl around 3pm stating what was needed (this in addition to an email I sent at 9:09am this morning:

Shea will be asking you if you can provide the data from the lab last week--apparently no one in her group recorded it--ugh!

and an email that Shea send to Mr. Juhl on 5/4:

Hey Mr. Juhl. I was just wondering if maybe on google classroom you could post the data we had as a class from the rocket experiment. It seems none of my group recorded the data because we all thought that somebody else in our group did it. If you could maybe send a picture of it or something that would be fantastic. I tried to find you during 4th period today, but I didn't want to interrupt you during class. I'm sorry I wasn't able to come sooner. Thank you for all your help, sir!
I had a heart to heart with Shea tonight and she ended up admitting she may not be able to get the data from the Th lab.  She called her group members (Jake and Jessie) and they decided they needed to stay after school tomorrow to make up the lab.  I pressed Shea and she admitted that she didn't know whether Mr. Juhl would be available.  Shea then sent the following email to Mr. Juhl:

Hello Mr. Juhl. Jake and I would like to stay after tomorrow to make up the rocket lab because we never got a hold of the data. The last couple emails I sent you explained that. This is my email request to do so. Thank you sir.

So we'll see if things work out.  This is a good example how one little oversight (failure to record lab data) can spiral into multiple emails, 5 days of uncertainty and possibly a zero on an important assignment.

Work Due Tomorrow:
US History: Done over the weekend (see 12 pg Cold War packet in 5/5/18 post)

Alg II:
2.8 Solving Quadratics by Graphing (completed-see pics-3)

English: None (though Shea worked on worksheet "Credibility, Perception & the Power of the Media" (see pics-2).

Work Due Wed:
French: Assignment shown on board:

Chemistry: H2-O2 Rocketry Lab Analysis (Started - see pic-2)

Shea also very briefly went over the 4 gas rules for the Chem quiz on Fri:

Waiting on emails from:

Ms. Berardo (date for make up Quiz and whether Shea can make up Rule of 4 Review)
Mr. Juhl (lab data or make up lab)
