SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 5/7-11

What Happened Thursday:
US History - Shea has been busy with homework all night (6:15-10pm on just French).  Regarding DBQ assignment (part of Cold War essay assignment), Shea said Mr. M did not require students to submit any part of the DBQ; he just said to keep working it.  It appears that she only has to do an org sheet, intro and one paragraph of the essay for Monday.  The DBQ docs in Google Docs look good--Shea said she worked on this last night for 30 mins and in class today.  The organizer is solid, and Shea hopes to complete the essay by Monday even though it is not due then per the last Google Classroom notice:  


Algebra II - Ms. B checked 2.8 Item #3 and went over the work, but Shea says she did not get all of it.  She'll work with Ms. R before the next class.

 Ms. Ryan said she still had mistakes on the QUEST redo - needs more practice before QUEST retake on Tu.  Plan is for at least 2 Ms. Ryan sessions before next Tu.

 English - Nothing was due, podcast on Jacob Wederling story, big project is to do their own podcasts.

 Due Tomorrow:
French - Worksheet due Wed--19th Century France and Impressionism - Shea has reference material to complete. (Ms. Bender said will accept tomorrow)

Chemistry - Quiz on 4 Gas Laws - Shea didn't want to study but is now trying to go over a few of the equations (i.e. Boyle's Law - P1V1=P2V2).  I don't think the verbal summaries of the Laws help Shea at all; she does better with the formulaic equations.  She put in about 20-25 minutes and we went over the following study sheets:





Adv Weight Training - 300 word essay on absorption.  Shea has reference materials--note the following email exchange with Shea's teacher:

 Dear Mr. Fennell,

Shea was not able to complete the essay on absorption that is due today.  She has been inundated this week with current and make up work in Algebra II, and she left school early with a fever on Monday.  She has some reference material to complete the assignment, but would you accept it next week so that Shea can complete it over the weekend?

Not sure exactly what this means; I interpret as a confirmation that Mr. F is okay with the assignment being handed in next week - will try to confirm with him.

 Shea has one short paragraph written per Google Docs.  Will f/u with her on her completion plan.

SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 5/21-25 A DAY:  M, W, F French Chemistry B DAY:  Tu, Th US History Algebra II English What Happened Wednesday: French - Had substitute teacher, got instructions on new assignment (another presentation on a French artist).  No HW for Fri but Shea has to do her presentation on Fri, still needs to finish her French segment and then do a dry run tomorrow night. Chemistry - Solubility Lab worksheet due next Wed (no Chem on Fri due to Assembly, and it appears that A Classes will be Wed and Fri after holiday).  Also need to go over TQ and QQ this weekend. Work Completed Wednesday Night: US History - none (Shea needs to do research and cite 4 sources for class on Tu 5/29, will work on this weekend.  Good documentary called "Dateline Saigon", will watch this w/e. SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 6/11-15 A DAY:  M, W. F French Chemistry (Adv Weight Lifting) B DAY: l Tu, Th US History Algebra II English (Choir) What Happened Tuesday: US History - Continued work final project.  Ellie and I met with Mr. Mal as part of Shea's 504 plan.  He said Shea's grade of 88 will not change; the project will be graded as separate final exam.  He said Shea's work improved in the 4th quarter. Algebra II - She did not complete her QUEST exam, she will finish it in LS on Wed.  She said she felt pretty confident in her work so far.  After the QUEST is completed Shea will begin prepping for the final exam. English - Continued work on podcast.  There is one assignment that has not been graded on PowerSchool--need to make sure this is not a missing assignment. SHEA'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE 6/4-8 B DAY:  M, W. F US History Algebra II English (Choir) A DAY:  Tu, Th French Chemistry (Adv Weight Lifting) What Happened Tuesday: French - Ms. B emailed to say that Shea did very well on her Toulouse-Lautrec presentation this morning.  Ms. B hadn't had a chance to grade the presentation but said she felt like an A. Chemistry - Shea said that she was 20 mins late to class after being excused early from First Period to attend Choir practice (for the Choir performance tomorrow night).  Shea said Mr. J went over Worksheet 5.4 and which is due as HW on Th (along with optional 2 questions on 5.8).   Shea received her Solubility quiz back and unfortunately got a 54 (6/11).  She was on track on 9 of the 11 questions but made small mistake reading a graph which cost her on 3 questions (could have been an 87).
